Qoyllorritty is a Quechua word that means Snow Shining. The people in this place are devout of Taytacha Qoyllorrity (Lord of the Shining Snow). This is an old religious custom practiced only by the inhabitants of the Andes. Each year, a few days before the celebration of Corpus Christi, every small town or clan sends a delegation of colorful dancers and "pauluchas" to the Chapel of the Lord of Qoyllor ritty. This is the beginning of a mountain called Sinakara in the village of Mawayany, at 4600 metres above sea level.

The pauluchas represent alpacas and are intermediaries between the Lord of Qoylloriti and men. Rising to the chapel performed at 4 in the morning by the Sinakara by des their animals. During the feast those involved in the procession of Our Lady of Fatima will have good luck in business, life and future. The end of the procession takes place in the former Inca capital of Cusco with the procession of Corpus Christi, the streets are full of people, music and color.

DAY 01: CUSCO – MAGUALLANI – QOYLLUR RITTY

Sunday: We started at 08:00 PM And came about at 12.00 PM Maguallani to. Here we have half an hour to enlist our possessions and head towards Qoyllorritty which is 292 km. Cusco. We will walk in the light of the moon in a procession along with more than 2000 pilgrims devotees of the Lord of Qoyllorritty. At around 3:00 in the morning we will arrive at our campsite where we can relax and sleep.
